Setter Course in Mexico: Cost and What to Check Before Paying

How much does a setter course cost in Mexico, how many real job openings exist, and what to verify before paying.

By the Ventaka team · Updated on · 7 min read

A setter course advertised on social media in Mexico is usually sold in dollars or euros through payment platforms like Hotmart, and programs with a tutor and job board cost around 2,000 euros (tens of thousands of pesos). Before paying, it's worth knowing what a setter does, how many real job openings exist in Mexico, and what protects you if the course isn't what you were promised.

What is a setter (appointment setter)

The setter contacts people interested in a product or service, almost always via Instagram, WhatsApp, or phone, checks if they're a fit, and schedules a call with the closer, who closes the sale. They're measured by appointments that actually happen.

It's a job closely tied to digital businesses: mentors, online academies, coaches, and agencies, many from the United States or Spain. That's why payment is almost always by commission, per appointment, or per sale, sometimes with a small base in dollars. You'll find details in the guide to the setter position in Mexico.

How much does a setter course cost

  • Programs with tutor, community, and job board: the price is rarely public; it's given in a call. In reviews from students of the most advertised Spanish-language programs, figures between 1,900 and 2,200 euros appear, often in installments.
  • Recorded courses: from free. On Udemy there are free appointment setter courses in Spanish.
  • Sales practice apps: from 8 to 25 dollars per month.

The difference isn't in the curriculum (scripts, objections, prospect qualification, CRM), which is similar across all programs, but in the support and the promise of getting you a job.

The key fact: how many setter job openings are there in Mexico

At Ventaka we collect sales job openings daily from employment portals and company websites. Since September 28, 2026, 265 sales job openings in Mexico have come in, and none were for setter or closer positions. In the same period there were 24 for phone sales or call center roles.

It doesn't mean the job doesn't exist: it means it's not posted as a vacancy. You get it through contacts, in communities, or by pitching directly to digital businesses, and almost always on commission. If you're looking for a job with salary and benefits, the most open doors today are sales call center and, if you speak English, remote SDR in dollars.

How much do setters earn

Academies talk about earning thousands of dollars a month. These are figures from the academies themselves, with no independent data to back them up. What is certain is the payment method: per appointment completed or per sale, as an independent contractor. Before accepting a client, ask for the real average their team earns and get in writing how and when each commission is paid. To compare with salaried positions, check the guide to sales salaries in Mexico.

What to check before paying

  1. The total price in writing, in pesos, with payment commissions in dollars or euros included.
  2. The installments. How many there are, if they have interest, and if you can stop paying if you leave the course.
  3. The "job board." Ask for names of businesses that have hired students and under what conditions.
  4. The guarantee. That it's in writing, with its requirements.
  5. Your right to cancel. In Mexico, distance or phone purchases can be revoked without penalty within 5 business days following contract signing or delivery (Article 56 of the Federal Consumer Protection Law).
  6. Reviews outside their website, with varied dates.
