Sales Jobs in Argentina Without Experience: How to Get Hired

How to get a sales job in Argentina with no experience: entry-level positions, 2026 minimum wages, where to apply, and how to spot fake job ads.

To land a sales job in Argentina without experience, target entry-level positions—retail sales, promoter, field sales representative, or telemarketing—build a CV highlighting customer service achievements, and practice your pitch out loud before the interview. In retail, the collective agreement guarantees a minimum wage even if you earn commission, so know what you're entitled to before accepting. Sales is one of the few fields where you can start without a degree: what they want is someone who can talk to people, handle rejection, and close deals. Here are the concrete steps.

Sales is one of the few fields where you can start without a degree: what they want is someone who can talk to people, handle rejection, and close deals. Here are the concrete steps.

What positions to look for if you have no experience

Search for these job titles exactly as they appear in listings:

  • Sales Associate / Retail Sales: sells in a store or on the street. Under the retail collective agreement, this is the "Sales Associate A–D" category.
  • Promoter: promotes products or conducts tastings at the point of sale.
  • Field Sales Representative: covers a fixed route visiting retailers and taking orders for a distributor. In Mendoza, for example, distributors hire field reps for entry-level positions in a city with 8.1% unemployment, above the national average.
  • Telemarketing / Telesales: sells by phone from a call center (agreement 781/20).
  • Commercial Advisor: the most common title in telecoms, health insurance, and banks.

How much you'll earn starting out

With inflation, figures from six months ago are outdated: always check the date of the data.

What matters: in retail, the base salary plus seniority is a guaranteed minimum even if you earn commission (article 19 of CCT 130/75). Commissions can absorb the base, but not union wage increases; PASBBA explains this. Find all salary scales in how much a sales associate earns in Argentina.

Build your CV and online profiles in one week

  1. Title at the top: use the exact job title from the listing ("Sales Associate," "Promoter," "Field Rep").
  2. Achievements, not tasks: if you worked as a helper, in a kiosk, in a family business, or selling on Instagram, include how many customers you served, what extra value you offered, and what results you achieved. If you don't have exact numbers, use an estimate you can explain.
  3. Availability and location: many store and route positions filter by schedule and neighborhood.
  4. One page and a phone number you answer.

Then upload it to Bumeran, ZonaJobs (which has a specific Commercial, Sales & Business section), Computrabajo, LinkedIn, and Portal Empleo, the official portal of the Labor Ministry.

Where to search by city

  • Buenos Aires: the city has the lowest unemployment in the country (5.6% in Q2 2026) and concentrates most sales, telecom, banking, and tech job listings.
  • Rosario: has the highest unemployment in the country (11.5%), so standing out matters. There are listings for traveling sales, commercial representatives, and service sales.
  • Mar del Plata: with 9.9% unemployment, telemarketing and retail are among the fastest entry points.

Companies with open positions or published sales salaries in 2025–2026: Mercado Libre, Claro, Assist Card, Despegar, Campari Group, Verisure, Avalian, Grupo Mirgor, OTIS, and YPF.

Method: apply daily to a fixed number of listings, adapting your CV title to each one, and track company, position, date, and response in a spreadsheet. After a week, call or message those who didn't reply.

The interview: prepare to sell in the moment

They'll ask things like "How do you handle a 'no' or a customer who says it's too expensive?", "How do you organize your day to hit your monthly target?", and "Are you comfortable with variable pay?" And often they'll ask: "sell me this pen." The key is not to start talking about the product:

  1. Ask: "When did you last use a pen? What for?"
  2. Listen to the problem (signing contracts, losing them, they fail).
  3. Connect the pen to that problem in one sentence.
  4. Close: "Will you take it?" or "How many do you need for your team?"

How to avoid fake job ads

  • You're paid "commission only" with no official pay stub.
  • They ask you to register as self-employed for a fixed-hours, supervised position.
  • "Be your own boss," "financial freedom": usually multilevel schemes where you earn by recruiting people.
  • They ask for money upfront: kit, training, or inventory.

If you're offered the job, also ask how you'll be evaluated during the trial period, which under the Bases Law is 6 months. More red flags in fake job ads in Argentina, and if you're unsure between formal employment and self-employment, read employment or self-employment.
